Q: Before working at Create, what was the most unusual or interesting project you’ve worked on?
A: A summer house in Beirut is the the most unusual project I’ve worked on. The most interesting has to be A grade 2* listed fourteen bedroom country house hotel in Somerset. This combined conservation work with cutting edge contemporary design.
Q: What do you like most about your job?
A: I love to design! From the early concept stages through to detailing the finishes, joinery and interiors. I enjoy working closely with clients to create unique and personal spaces. Equally I love getting out on site and the buzz of the construction phase of a project.
Q: What have been your biggest professional challenges?
A: Each and every project is different and seems to present a new set of challenges. Whether it’s planning or programme restrictions, environmental/structural matters or unusual discoveries on site, It’s my job to navigate these.
Q: What is your favourite building?
A: I like buildings that are subtle, simple and honest, that carefully combine old and new architecture like Hauser + Wirth in Somerset.
Q: What are you most looking forward to this year?
A: Having recently moved to Guernsey, I’m really looking forward to settling into island life with my family.
Q: How would someone describe you?
