Our brief for Bonheur was to create a new open plan extension to the rear of the original Listed Guernsey farmhouse to provide addition living accommodation linked through to the existing house. A small flat roof extension was removed to reveal the existing rear elevation of the original farmhouse and tourelle staircase which was mainly covered by the former rear extension. The new extension incorporates a large open plan Kitchen and Dining area, with separate study and utility room. At first floor a new music room is provided accessed by the existing tourelle staircase. The new extension successfully combines both flat and pitched roof structures linked by a double height glazed entrance area enveloping and complimenting the original tourelle.
