We believe that good design enhances people’s lives.

We understand that appointing a Chartered Architect can be daunting but an informal meeting with us will allow you to see the potential of your project. From small renovations to new builds, we are enthusiastic about improving Guernsey’s built environment and designing schemes that really work for the way you live.

We harness the latest technology, not only in construction but also in the way we communicate with you and help you to understand how a design will work in reality.

We are keen on optimising energy efficiency and minimising environmental impact, so this will always be at the forefront of our minds.

Create was founded by James Barker and Ricky Mahy in 2004. Since then the practice has evolved and grown, our work now encompassing the public and private sectors, including historic buildings, public amenities, accessibility auditing, private homes and social housing developments. We have worked in Guernsey, Jersey, Alderney, the United Kingdom and South America.

From your initial contact with us, right through to the completion of your project, you can be assured that our friendly, professional team will keep you informed and put you at the heart of what we do.

Why appoint a Chartered Architect?

Uniquely within Europe, the title ‘Architect’ is not protected by law in Guernsey meaning any person (qualified or otherwise) may choose to use it.

Create is a Chartered Architectural and Surveying practice employing both Chartered Architects and Surveyors, together with Architectural Technologists in order to provide you with the best possible professional service. As a Chartered Practice we seek to bring your project out of the ordinary through good design whilst giving you peace of mind that your project is being overseen by dedicated and competent professionals.

Create is registered with the Architects Registration Board, and are also members of the local branches of RIBA (Guernsey Society of Architects) and RICS Guernsey Group.
